One of the biggest fads of dieting has been the notion that bread is number of enemy for weight loss. However, not all breads are created equally!
Store-bought, with highly refined grains and processed breads are only friends with bloating and digestive discomforts. However, not all breads are created equally!
Still there are many great options from the bakery that are convenient and safe to eat daily but you'd need about two working days to figure out how many preservatives are used and the % of fibre you're getting, you'd have baked at least 3 homemade breads by then because truly, not all breads are created equally.
Fibre is very important for digestion, it aids in promoting bowel movement and reduces conditions like constipation.
4-INGREDIENT BREAD.
FLOUR + WATER + YEAST + SALT (optional but highly suggested: nuts and seeds)
My choice of flour is primarily all-purpose baking flour but I've started adding Bran Flour to my recipes for the added benefits the bran gives where fibre is concerned.
Adding two types of flour gives the bread the softness white flour promises while having the nutritional boost from bran flour.
Seeds and nuts on your bread is not a sight easily seen on store-bought bread but having these ingredients is yet another reason you should try making your own bread!
Chia, Pumpkin and Flaxseeds are some of the many seeds I used in my bread recipe for extra fibre! A few spoonfuls of each have approximately 3+ grams of fibre!
Stay Tuned, more posts are coming soon to unpack just the sexiness of fibre! And while that comes, throw a few ingredients into a bowl and enjoy yourself some good + fibre-filled bread!
Love,
Luxe Ledi.
