Get in Girlies, we going lifting! 🏋🏽‍♀️

The hype around strength training lately has the girls on chokehold and rightfully so! Lifting heavy is an important part of overall fitness.

The health benefits best many other types of workouts where longevity is concerned, muscle mass, bone strength and metabolic rate go on a steady decline in most women as they age and ofcourse with the help of a healthy diet - lifting weights is a workout plan that stands between this decline and aging gracefully!

Instead of the typical misconception that lifting leads to bulkyness, it actually builds lean muscle mass and that is the secret to a toned and tight physique!

There is no trade-off between looking feminity and being strong. Strength is not heavy, it's not thin - it is a balance of endurance, flexibility and dare I say, comfort on one's skin.

Some of my non-physical benefits from strength training are benefits of the mind:

  1. Boosted Confidence: As you progress in your training and witness improvements in strength, endurance, and physique, you'll often experience a surge in confidence and self-esteem that extends far beyond the gym walls.

  2. Mental Resilience: Strength training is as much a mental workout as it is a physical one. The discipline, determination, and focus required to lift weights and overcome obstacles in the gym translate into real-life resilience and grit.

  3. Empowerment: By mastering the skills and techniques of strength training, you gain a sense of autonomy and independence that transcends physical appearance and empowers you to live life on your own terms.

So start slow, but start nonetheless! While weights are the core inspiration of this article, there are other weight-training methods available and there'll be pieces on those too!

Thanks for reading, lift heavy!

Love always,

Ledi. 🤍
