Create one or 700! Trying to get inspo for the new year or just the month of L-O-V-E or any other month? Creating a moodboard for either one of these reasons (or all) is a fun way to get the joy back into living.
Moodboarding is very similar to VISION BOARDING!
Moodboards are visual collages that capture the vibe of whatever you're trying to live out! They are visual ideas that can be made into dreamy realities - so... you definitely need one for the new season.
My mood for this summer was sporty, playful and a little spice of nice (read: sexy but innocent?, lol) - I am really into my workouts and being a hot babe and if I'm about to spend half of summer sweaty, I'd really like to be cute doing it. Playful is just the vibe I get from the trendy vibes of the 2000's - the hair, the little outfits and the colours just give me playful and err? GIVE IT TO ME.
If you have 10 thousand interests like me, a few mood boarding sessions to separate your many personalities can put some order into your life while it blows some smoke up your tush.
DECIDE YOUR MOOD. Great questions to ask about your mood are: How are you trying to feel/What emotion do you seek from this season of your life? What colours, styles and activities do you think will bring these feelings/emotions closer?
CURATE THE VIBESSS. Get the visuals that match as much of the answers to the above questions as the internet can give. Some of the most popular apps for this include Canva and Pinterest but my recent personal fave is The Landing.
MAKE IT PERSONAL. Whatever you cannot find off the internet to match the vibes, CREATE yourself - this will make the little project more rewarding and extra points because as you create the graphics you're living in the end. No pressure though, adding doodles or notes in your handwriting makes it personal enough!
FOLLOW THROUGH. I am an intentions queen, half the fun of life is in the thought and effort put into the little things. For me, I'm getting those preppy cute gym fits to make sweating fun, I'm putting in the time into the whole feel and it can be a little tedious for you, so find the thing that makes you feel relaxed on your way to your dream moooood.
Some of my favourite apps to create mood patterns are Pinterest (obvi, we love that one), Canva for desktop users and a recently released app called The Landing.
