My Skincare Essentials.

Happy Sunday, love.

I am absolutely a sucker for Sunday, I love the day and all i associate with it and one thing I absolutely cannot skip on a Sunday is a good skincare regimen. I love my skin, its flaws and all it's glory and I am so grateful for asking up everyday in my skin - when I am not all gaga with affirmations for me to love my skin me, I'm actually caring for it.

Now, I don't think my journey with skincare is at all different - my puberty hit "late" and when it actually did I did not go hysterical as it wasn't all that bad itself. So overtime I started using what seemed like the most accessible and effective products and that did work for a while but a couple of years later I decided to ditch the brand for personal identity reasons. That was a really easy decision for me to make but I was absolutely not ready for what my skin went through thereafter!

With lots of patience and some more patience I worked my way towards Skincare products that did not make me actually look different and this is my uneducated opinion on what I think your skin will thank you for. x

CLEANSERS.

Whether you are a green bar soap or a gel cleanser user, you know the importance of starting your skin off with a wash. With cleansers I have moved from ones with fragrance to cleansers that do very little or no fragrance and my skin reacts better to the non-fragrant washers. I tend to use more than one cleanser on days that I wear any sort of makeup and the composition of each differs, but my favourite cleansers are ones that foam!

SUNSCREEN.

Right after my wash I go in with the star of my life, sunscreen. I swear by sunscreen and because I use a sunscreen that is both chemical and physical so even if I do not start with sunscreen I can end with it. Every single human being needs to incorporate sunscreen in their daily skincare routine - there too many benefits and we should all be beneficiaries.

SERUMS.

Ah! Serums... I did not always include serums in my routine as a basic or an essential but I'm so pleased that I have allowed myself to start with them. Serums often pack great benefits of your favourite vitamins and proteins. You might have already figured out what skin type you have and what your skin needs to thrive but if not you can always start figuring that out for yourself.

MOISTURIZERS.

For long in my living I thought all Skincare meant was moisturizing, while I was not entirely clued up I was not off the wagon because what is the use of all skincare without moisture? Moisturizers help with skin dryness, blemishes and to soothe the skin so finding the one that works for you and your skin is something worth putting time into.

OILS.

After moisturizing we seal, that is the purpose of oils...to help keep all the goodness we have fed into our skin on our skin. However, that does not mean you should not massage oils into your skin like any of the other products mentioned here you should take your time feeding your skin the oil of your choice.

This is what my basic day-time skincare regimen looks like, this does not include skin prep for days when I choose to wear makeup and for my night-time basic routine there are some products that I swap out and replace with others.

I hope you loved this piece and that you caring for your skin becomes more and more of a thank you note to your skin and you fall inlove with the magic that you are!

With love,
