Tennis Day Date

Sundays are whatever anyone makes of them! Whether you try out a new skill as selfcare or an entirely new sport Sunday is the day to do it on!

I recently tried out Tennis and made a fun day of it. I have much to learn because what the William sisters make this somewhat hard sport look easy peasy and it is definitely not so. Despite the challenge of the sport as a first timer, there is fun to be had with new things.

While there are not tennis courts in every neighborhood, a drive to your nearest court will be worth it.

ESSENTIALS

These are some obvious things you might not want to overlook!

  • A tennis partner. Er, obviously because you will not be playing with a wall. This also makes for an awesome friend group date.

  • Tennis Racket. There are many affordable options available in sporting stores that range from R120.00

  • Tennis Balls. Much like the rackets, there are countless options for affordable tennis balls and the more people you have for your game the more balls you will need. These are always sold in sets of 3 or 4!

  • Breathable gear. I find the most part of my tennis day out was the cute little outfit, but if you go out during the winter choose warmer clothes because the sun being out does not mean it is warm outside. Your clothes must accommodate your running around and heating up.

  • Water. With lots of running you will want to have your water bottle nearby. Hydration is always important!

Some courts might have a small fee needed to access the courts.

MAKE A DATE OF IT.

There is vast space outside the courts that can be used for a sweet post-play picnic. Whatever time you choose to go out and play, you can pack some sandwiches for afterwards.

Thank you for reading this far! Make everyday moments more beautiful, make the effort to make your own life beautiful.

Happy Sunday
