Keeping Up with your Body Goals in Winter.

Now, colder weather makes leaving the bed harder in the mornings or at all, so getting your daily workout in could seem a little harder.

Autumn and Winter are awesome cuddle, sweats seasons that we love to love but this season also comes packing seasonal depression. I always rave about the many benefits of physical wellbeing but I downright worship workouts during this season. Not only do I want to secretly know that my body is banging beneath my oversized sweats, but I believe I'm working on my mental health and my body at the same time when I prioritize movement.

Incorporating daily movement into your life will give you multiple benefits this season.

BENEFITS OF WORKING OUT IN WINTER

Positive body-image: Dissociate a healthy outlook of your body from summer, strive to maintain good body image throughout the year. This is really awesome because it could be a challenge for one to start being mindful about their habits through the year.

Balancing of Hormones: Keeping active is helpful with maintaining levels of insulin, cortisol and/or thyroid hormones. Keeping these hormones in check will help in decreasing feelings of fatigue and muscle pains.

Balanced Moods*: Our bodies love getting help from us, by doing high intensity exercises like running or fast walking our minds release the infamous endorphins which help in elevating our moods. This is literally why you instantly feel good when you're panting and your glutes are on fire.

Healthy Mindspace: A healthy mind is a big flex, and I don't believe anyone is ever too young, too healthy or too emotionally intelligent to invest in their mental wellbeing. Working out is a very good friend to better headspace and this is very much why our moods improve when we move our bodies. Also, working out help with keeping our minds sharp and our memory intact.

MOTIVATION FOR PHYSICAL MOVEMENT

Keeping healthy is motivation enough for me. Never have ever regretted going for it and moving my body, however much I trust to get into it I never force my body far when it needs rest.

Overtime, everyone curates their reasons for why they love keeping in tune with their bodies, but for many having a better mindset is one benefit that motivates them to incorporate this in their daily routine.

Making the process as enjoyable as possible for oneself is also important. Create a fun environment for you to want to move your body.

Invest in how this makes you feel, buy a brazy workout set that makes you feel the hottest.

Always take it easy, it seriously does not matter how it looks - the gold is all in how it feels. If you are not an everyday gym person, commit to getting in nature by going for a walk or a jog but if that doesn't work, do some daily stretches or practice yoga.

Try moving "spoils" from motivational acts to rewards, a way to congratulate yourself for being disciplined. Go try a new smoothie after a hectic gym session instead of making your usual snack at home.

BEING COMMITTED TO MOVEMENT

Make plans for any intention you may have to workout. Decide how frequent you would like to have a workout in a week and at what time.

Prescreen the workouts you want to do, if you have goals that relate to how you want your body to look - do research before committing to your regimen.

Always put up reminders. If you have your workouts in the morning, set out your fit the night prior.

It is also an awesome idea to slide in impromptu workouts whenever you have unforeseen free periods in your day.

Having a healthy body is important throughout the year, invest in your body at all times and allow your body the opportunity to feel good at all times. You deserve to feel confident even when it is not bikini season - your beanie will have you as a hottie.
