Fruits are the way and the truth! Don't fight, have a fruit bowl to prove me wrong.
I don't know a time when fruit is non-essential in any diet, honestly. In the summer they make for the easiest on-the-go snacks and meals and if you get lazy to think hard about meals in general, the winter might not be any different. Winter fruits have a little extra silver lining, they have extra zing to boost our immunity which we all need during the cold season!
The flue season is brutal and any little help is much welcome, the fruit listed below are some of those in season in South Africa and these can your best friends where fights constant colds is concerned!

Throwing multiple fruit into a bowl is the quickest way to consume tons of fruit in one sitting and I started using another fruit: a papaya, as a bowl in which I toss my other fruit into. Do NOT remove those papaya seeds, they pack some great nutritional benefits such as promoting healthy gut, lowing cholesterol and reducing inflammation.
It is a versatile and fun way to eat something that can get mundane (to some anyway)! Especially with the option to add a yoghurt on top for the babes with a sweet tooth.
