Romanticizing your Life

"Being Happy is the Purpose of Our Lives. " - Dalai Lama

Romanticism of life might come across as an oversell to others but being alive is a blessing I am committed to appreciate for as long as I live.

The notion does not exist to discredit any "hardships" that come with living but I believe it is more to prioritize healthier choices that can help build happier lives.

In this blog I'll share what I think makes living romantic or how anyone can romanticize their everyday living experience.

Be Mindful in the Moment.

The quickest way to be sad is to get lost in the past and anxiety becomes a part of life due to the constant need to control the future. Our purpose of being happy is stemmed in being present, enjoying your own company and environment and bringing yourself to the moment.

Here is a prompt to remind you to stay in the moment:

Is my mind focused on where my feet are?

Return to Inner Child Joy(s)

There is one person to ever make proud, one person to ever save and that is our inner child. I can recount moments I've felt most at peace as one with those I remembered to honor my inner child. Romanticism is a path that trudges through trauma and healing and returning to who we were before the hurt is the kindest thing we can do for ourselves. So, remember yourself and do a little of what you have always wanted to do.

Here is are some prompts:

What did 8 or 11 year-old me enjoy doing?

What makes me genuinely enjoy my own company?

Invest in Yourself.

You are your own home, your most important investment. Spending time to tend to yourself emotionally may look like validating your own feelings and acknowledging that you are the only person responsible for how you feel. Showing up spiritually is the most important way to get closer to yourself, you can meditate, listen to your intuition and find connection to the Source to achieve spiritual investment.

It is through investment that you will learn yourself, know what you prefer and what you will not tolerate - knowing this will further allow you to know what deserves more of your time and what does not.

Here are some prompts:

What can I do this week to affirm my purpose? How do I commit to myself and my growth?

Value Your Time.

The most valuable asset we all have is time, but the lack of it catches up often. Be discerning of who and what gets your time, be present with those who get to share your life - hear them as well as they hear you. Allow grace for those who still need to learn how to love you and remember effort is remarkable. Only priority people and activities deserve a minute of you and inversely, you should not take for granted people who give you time and the ability to do what you want with your time.

Give your time back to yourself, there are things that may always come across as more important but you deserve your own time.

Do I feel appreciated by the people I see everyday?

Should I be giving as much time as I am to certain persons or activities?

What can I go without to spend more time on myself?

Life is beautiful, just open your eyes to the beauty or change the way you live. I wish you a fulfilling life with so much genuineness. Thank you for reading this far.
